Tamara shared the story behind the project – and the way it is finished. This is very condensed.
Tamara and her Mom both worked on Once Upon A Fairytale by Aimee Stewart, her Mother with 1 thread per cross, and she with 2 threads. Tamara started in the left top corner, her Mother in the bottom right. Her Mother made the first few stitches on Tamara’s work. The plan was her Mom would do the last stitches as well. Tamara’s Mother lost her fight with cancer, asking her to finish the piece if she couldn’t, but Tamara’s stepdad expressed the wish to leave the work unfinished. If you look closely you can see where she last left her needle which was framed it with the work. Sometimes it’s not about finishing a piece, but about the journey…..
